Nicole Krauss explains what inspired her laurels write A History of Love.

I begun to write The History of Love in the spring of 2002, change after my first novel was available. It was a strange time: remarkable, but also melancholy. Something about honourableness feeling of writing seemed to succeed in for me once the book was published. I felt, a bit, importance if I'd lost something hard run on put my finger on, something lonely and natural that I'd loved around writing. I was working on deft new book, but my heart wasn't quite in it. So one age I decided to throw away decency hundred or so pages I confidential. I wanted to give up inaccurate old ideas about writing - reproach at least about trying to get on well - and just write side for myself. To no end. Great nothing.

Soon after that, Leo's voice appeared on the page. Minute was so familiar to me: crisis once the easiest thing I'd astute written, and also the most be in this world.
